English Muffin Bread Recipe

If you’re anything like me then you enjoy eating toast or bread with honey for breakfast. Well, I must admit, it may not be as healthy as eating well-known cereals the first thing in the morning, but I’ll tell you one thing:

I WILL ALWAYS choose toast with jam over the cereals. Besides, I have a pretty busy schedule, and I need a kick of “sugar” right from the start of my day. Well, the reason why I’m writing this article is because I want to share my favorite recipes with you, to make your mornings sweeter so that you can be as energized and happy as I am.

Okay, so what recipes am I going to share with you? Well, remarkable English muffin Bread recipes, that you will fall in love with, the second you try it/them.

I don’t know how often you cook or bake, but I do that almost every day. And I am always experimenting and trying out new recipes. There is nothing funnier and more enjoyable to me than spending a half of my day (when I’m not at my work) in my kitchen.

So, I’ve tried English muffin bread for the first time at my friend’s, and I was impressed by its unique taste. After a few days, I wanted to make this recipe on my own, hence I googled it (of course).

After trying out a couple of variations, I managed to find the most delicious ones, and those recipes I’m sharing with you today. Let’s have some fun, shall we?

Oh, just to mention, I’m sharing two recipes with you – one for baking the bread in the oven, and the other one for baking in the bread machine.

I love them both, only the second one requires less preparation, and I always set my bread machine to bake the bread while I’m sleeping, so that fresh and crispy muffin bread waits for me in the morning.

English muffin Bread Recipe

Prep time: 30 mins

Cook time: 45 mins

Total Time: 1 hour 15 mins

Serves: 4 loaves of bread

Ingredients:

3 packages of Bread machine yeast (rapid rise) or active dry yeast (which will have to rise twice)
1 liter and 250 milliliters of water
11 cups all-purpose bread flour
6 teaspoons salt
3 Tablespoons sugar

Directions:

1. Get a perfect mixture

Put all the ingredients in the bowl and use a mixer to get a nice texture of the dough. You’ll notice that the dough is very sticky, but don’t worry; it should be that way. When you’re done mixing, you should spoon into 4 loaf pans. Of course, make sure that you put enough oil on every side of the pan and also on the bottom so that the dough won’t stick too much.

2. Preheat your oven

It’s important to turn on the oven before you let the dough rise. For the best results, you can even turn on the oven before you start measuring the ingredients.

3. Rise up!

When you put the dough into loaf pans, let it rise all the way up to the top of the pan. Of course, if you opt for active dry yeast, this part will take more time than when using rapid-rise yeast. However, do keep in mind that active dry yeast will activate more flavors so your bread will be even tastier.

4. It’s baking timeeeee!

When the dough is ready, put the pan in the oven, and bake for 30-45 minutes at 350 degrees. The baking time will depend on your oven, so you have to keep an eye on the dough. The bread should have that lovely golden brown color on all sides.

5. Brush, brush, brush

When the bread is done, take it out from the oven, and use a silicone brush to spread melted butter all over it. This will make it a bit softer.

6. Is it cool?

Don’t forget to let the bread cool completely, otherwise, you won’t be able to slice it properly.

7. Enjoy!

Serve the bread toasted or leave it like that, it’s up to you. I love toasted version, with a loooot of honey and butter on it. You can try the bread with any kind of jam, or even with chocolate.

Prep time: 15 mins.

Baking time: 60 mins.to 3 hours

Total time: around 4 hours

Servings: 1 loaf of bread

Ingredients:

1/3 or ¼ cup water
4 deciliters slightly warm milk
1 teaspoon vinegar
2 Tablespoons butter
1 teaspoon sugar
1 teaspoon salt
½ teaspoon baking powder
2 teaspoons instant yeast (you can add a bit more if you want)
3 ½ cups All-purpose flour

Directions:

1. Let’s put it all in!

When you measured all the ingredients, place them into the pan of your bread machine. A Smaller amount of water is ideal if it is summer, while the larger amount of water is suitable for winter or if you happen to live in a dry climate area.

2. Choose the perfection

Choose basic white bread cycle on your machine, and also set the desired crustiness (though I recommend light crust). Through the second kneading cycle, don’t forget to check on the dough and add more water/ flour, if needed.

3. Let’s make it real.

If you want the bread to be in its best taste and shape, then I suggest removing it before the last rise and rolling in cornmeal. After you’ve done that, put the dough back in the bread machine and let it rise and bake.

4. That’s it.

When the bread is done, remove it and let it cool completely. Serve with honey and butter, chocolate, jam or anything else you may like. Enjoy!
